Yes Muamba was considered "clinically dead" for a good bit before he was revived, which unfortunately does not work for everyone. This situation happened to my grandmother once when she was in the hospital after a heart attack. She said that while this occured she saw bright lights and some really strange stuff as this is commonly labeled a near death experiance.
