Blackburn striker Goodwillie guilty of street assault

Premier League footballer David Goodwillie has pleaded guilty to assault.

The Blackburn Rovers striker admitted attacking John Friel in Glasgow's Queen Street on November 3, 2010.

The 23-year-old Scotland international punched him on the head and body during the attack.

He admitted the assault when he appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court today, a court official said. Sentence was deferred until April 30 for reports.

Goodwillie, from Stirling, moved from Dundee United to Blackburn last summer for a fee of around £2million.

Dundee United have confirmed they received a scheduled payment from Blackburn Rovers for the transfer of striker David Goodwillie.

A Tannadice spokesman said: "I can confirm that we have now been paid the sum due by Blackburn, but the money was due to us a week past Wednesday and we have only received it today."

Yes and some clubs dont pay their debts, and need to cheat so they can win things. And then there fans are so deluded, they think cause they have won a few SPL titles and a few Skol cups they are a really succesful club.
