My thread

I had an awful night. First, I had a stomach ache, but feel asleep. Then I woke up in the middle of the night shivering like crazy. I couldn't go back to bed for 30 minutes. Now I feel extremely drained and it seems like I have a slight fever.

I would say most of them are fairly shit.

I got rid of some of the shit threads.

I experienced my first ever match as a coach, of my under 11's team last night, boy is it different to just watching a match as a fan! You cannot loose concentration for one second, you have to constantly talk and encourage the players and keep them organised! You also have to watch off the ball too and not just follow the ball, I found it quite stressful to be honest! It's still something I think I want to do though, but I would much rather coach adults in the future than just work with kids. But I am just thankful of the opportunity to get on the coaching ladder - beggars can't be choosers!

Then maybe you should do something about it, o' mighty admin.

I always feel self conscious when I'm on the touchline like shouting at them, i've 'managed' a couple of matches for the U12 team at my school, I mean, the coach on the other team is like 50 and i'm 17 so I just feel a bit stupid sometimes.

It was a good run.

There wasn't really a style to be honest. We always encourage passing in training and work on passing drills, since it's the basic fundamental of football. But in the match last night we just mixed it up, sometimes it was played along the ground and other times it was played long. We lost 2-1 and were getting drilled in the 1st half, but in the 2nd half we were so much better, played very well, were very competitive and should of got something out of the game.

No. I don't even have a club tracksuit yet as they are supposedly getting new ones, so I just compiled a makeshift tracksuit together.

I did feel very self-conscious too, being my first match and all. I also wasn't too sure of what to say at times and I still can't remember all the kids names, so I shouted using their number. I was also beating myself up inside because I felt like I wasn't doing what was expected of me. But hopefully I'll get more confident as the season goes on. That was only a pre-season friendly, I believe we have another match on Monday night.
