Re: Foreign (Non-English) Songs
Funny I was listening to some Edith Piaf earlier and thought about making this thread. My threads usually don't do well so ended up not bothering.

Re: Foreign (Non-English) Songs
Sorry, I don't speak Nubian and not many do. Can't find a translation. But it's a nice song to play while relaxing or getting high (I assume)...
The above is a remix. Here is the original song...

Re: Foreign (Non-English) Songs
Me and Che could fill this thread with Spanish stuff but I think I will pass. I want to visit this thread for the odd good sounding German, Italian, French or Japanese song.

Re: Foreign (Non-English) Songs
The danish song for world cup 2010 gained a bit of "fame", being played a bit on some American radio shows talking football and such during the world cup. The band makes songs with a mixture of Danish and English lyrics although this song is mostly in danish some of their other hits are mixed more including one of their early hits En(A) Wannabe Darth Vader, tried introducing them to international friends which is usually positive.
If i have to recommend another non football related song of them
or but that is mostly because of the cool video, all of the songs on their last related albums had a video made for it by a random video creating artist. One of them returned for the official video for the song above.
Translated Lyrics wrote:let's try and drive them around in circles
let's try and send them home to bed
let's try some playground-things
Yeah, it’s the Danish way to rock
and if they kick us down, we'll say
up again, that hurt
and if they kick it in, we'll say
**** it, come again
we come together (x2)
we leave together (x2)
to new ground, it's the danish way to rock
we grow together (x2)
we move together (x2)
to new ground, it's the danish way to rock
Dam da dam dam,
dam da dam dam,
dam da, the Danish way to rock
Dam da dam dam,
dam da dam dam,
dam da, the Danish way to rock
we'll let the party loose
we'll give it bip bio gas
ever since '86
Yeah, it’s the Danish way to rock
and if they ask who we are, then we'll say
we are those who give
and if they ask where we live, then we'll say
where the salt grows
we come together (x2)
we leave together (x2)
to new ground, it's the danish way to rock
we grow together (x2)
we move together (x2)
to new ground, it's the danish way to rock
Dam da dam dam,
dam da dam dam,
dam da, the Danish way to rock
Dam da dam dam,
dam da dam dam,
dam da, the Danish way to rock
we come together, we leave together
denmark...
we grow together, we move together
denmark...
we come together (x2)
we leave together (x2)
denmark...
we grow together (x2)
we move together (x2)

Muhkoo, do you listen to Outlandish?
Do they have any songs in Danish other than Kom Igen?

I wouldn't say i listen to them, I've heard their songs naturally but that would be hard to avoid as they've released a lot of hits here.
"I Danmark Er Jeg Født" It is recognition to Denmark as a whole, there is a lot of racist bigotry that gets attention and we are quite often portrayed as such to our neighboring countries due to some tough immigration laws and citizen requirements. It's based of a piece written by legendary fairytale writer H.C. Andersen. However in the same interview or piece where Isam B talks about the song (Who has quite a good singing voice in Danish as well, which just makes it sad that they haven't made more danish songs)he says that the country has a lot to learn, but it is natural seeing as immigration here is something that just begun in the last 50 years.
There is a lot that could be taken from the song, but my thoughts on it are that the group has been portrayed time and time again as not very danish, i mean they are named Outlandish and have put quite a bit of emphasis on their roots before, which sometimes overshadows the fact that they got their big break here, because of danish people listening to them and buying their albums, before anyone else were. They live here, they grew up here and it is their home, that makes them Danish. They are thankful for it and for being here , something a lot of Danes and immigrants alike sometimes forget, tiny sheltered little country.
Translation for the title would be: "I am born in Denmark"
Up on further investigation, it is actually a song from Isam B's personal solo album from 2007, "Institution" which was all danish songs.
