Stacking shelves on a night shift is soul destroying.

You don't exactly need people skills to work at McDonalds.Cam wrote:I wouldn't mind getting a job at McDonalds or something, it's just my people skills are shit. I want a job where I can like stack shelves at night or something haha

No, I like that sort of thing.
I like being behind the scenes running things rather than on the front line having to deal with annoying customers and stuff.
I got a job at Tesco when I was 18. I was sort of like you, didn't really like public interaction/dealing with customers etc. But if you're just a shelf stacker working in the aisles then 90% of customer interaction will be then asking you where a product is which is easy to deal with (once you learn where everything is) and eats up time. If you are working night shift, then even a 6 hour shift lasts an eternity. I did one, and never wanted to do another. The pay is a little better for night shift though, so there's pros and cons for each.Cam wrote:ayvee1 wrote:You really don't

'Can I take your order please?'
'Here you go'
'Get me a big mac meal!'
'Next please'
No need to tell us that. We figured.Cam wrote:I wouldn't mind getting a job at McDonalds or something, it's just my people skills are shit. I want a job where I can like stack shelves at night or something haha

I've got an apprenticeship now which I don't enjoy, worked in a small independant sports shop before that. Looking back it was a bit dodgy, quite a few times I was left alone in the shop when I was only 15. If I was a cunt id've had my hands in the till.Cam wrote:Uncle John from Jamaica wrote:I thought my people skills were poor, but when I got a job in retail in an environment I actually enjoyed (sports) they really came out.
Where do you work?
