Second episode in and I like it, seems more direct than the other one.

Unfortunately I can't find the next episode, I'll see if I can buy it.

Such sin is only a stumbling block on the path to redemption. I prayed for forgiveness, fasted for days after this incident. I feel rejuvenated now.

    Agreed.

I admired the amount of effort that they put into it. It's also more historically accurate than the Showtime version. I'll probably still follow the latter as well, though.

The Showtime series doesn't seem bold enough, compared to this. Holds back some of the brutality and is careful to still paint most of the family in a good light. The only thing it has over this, is Jeremy Irons. The Canal+ version has a bigger and more diverse cast, a better French king, much better villains, and more believable plot developments(How the French were repelled).I'm impressed and curious as to why is it in English. Thanks for the recommendation.

    Yeah, no problem.

I completely agree with your post, btw. Honestly, Irons is the only reason why I'm still following the Showtime version.

So the season 3 premier's on the 14th. Trailers seem to be scarce, but a few promos seem to indicate this show may address the darker sides this season. If you're going to portray the Borgias, better do it right and real. I've mustered some enthusiasm now. No Juan as well, who ever gave a fuck about that whelp.

Damn the other one though, I'm guessing it will be released on Netflix in its full completed form after the french version finishes. Just showed the eights episode on Canal +.

It's got potential but that's been wanting at times. Similar to The Tudors, as you would expect since they're both made by Showtime. 7 out of 10 for me. Wheels often take too long to get in motion, but Jeremy Irons still stands as one of the greatest voices around.

You should just watch Tom Fontana's version on Netflix, Peter. I'll probably make a thread for that if they ever decide to include season two.

Be warned though, there's a substantial amount of nudity but great writing, nonetheless.

Very much agree with this assessment. Also, the guys who play Cesare and Juan are pussyfarts.

I'm confused how the Borgia one works. Do they dub it in french after production? Then it's a shame we have to wait till the french version finishes on Canal+. They ended on a cliffhanger dammit.
