A Spain, a Basque and a Catalan XI Empty A Spain, a Basque and a Catalan XI

Probably will have to bump this after the matches, but the Gibraltar thread gave me an idea. As most of us know, Basque county and Catalonia want to be independent of Spain, imagine if that happened some time ago, what would be the best 'real' Spain, Basque and Catalan XI be right now? Going after birth place and with Valencia and Mallorca being Catalan.
    Will post mine later on.

Or you could make a Mallorca and Valencia team or just rule them out entirely.

Seems like it'd be an unfair advantage.

    Basque

Iraizoz; Iraola, M. San Jose, I. Martinez, Aurtenexte; X. Alonso, J. Martinez; Susaeta; Prieto, Muniain; Llorente

    Basically Athletic + La Real

    Catalan

Valdes; Montoya; Pique, V. Ruiz, Didac Vila; Verdu, Busquets, Xavi; Cuenca, Vasquez, Bojan

    "Spanish"

Casillas; Ramos, Ballesteros (not worthy),Botia, Monreal; Granero, B. Valero; Pedro, Iniesta, Silva; Villa

OK, Alvaro Dominguez for Ballesteros. What a Face

I think Navarro isn't considered to be part of the Basque community.

It depends. Navarre isn't considered part of the official Basque "autonomous community," but there's a significant Basque population there. That's why someone like Fernando Llorente was allowed to join Athletic Club's youth ranks. It's also why a club like Osasuna has produced a great deal of players with Basque roots.

I'd say the Athletic Club rules should apply to the Basque NT.

What about French Basques? Ruffier would be a good second choice to Iraizoz.

Because today Asturias is a local identity rather than ethnicity and nobody gives a fuck about Galicia, not even Galicians.
