Re: Swansea City's passing game.
Lets be honest, the majority of Xavi's passes are 5 yrds to his left or right.
1172 passes sideways.

Xavi creates one every 31 minutes. Truly phenomenal.

Hate Xavi, I hope when he's done he fades into the abyss

Re: Swansea City's passing game.
Britton plays as the deepest midfielder in the trio but I wouldn't really class his role as a defensive midfielder. He's mainly a pivot to keep the ball moving. The centre backs push fairly high up when defending too so there is no real need for a defensive midfielder.
Allen is the one to watch.

I hate when people say stuff like this.
Of course it would be more hailed, because it's more impressive. They've had previous for doing amazing things before, so if they consistently did it then it proves it's not a fluke. When I see Chris Brunt do it I think, "That was a good pass, but he couldn't do that every week."

Chris Brunt doesn't play for Barcelona though
Not that I think Brunt = Xavi

Maybe there's a reason he doesn't play for Barcelona.

Re: Swansea City's passing game.
Don't forget that the passer alone cannot create the chance, the attacking players have to make the correct series of movement to position the opposing defence in a way which makes the pass/run possible. Perfect example of this was Dyer's goal against us on the weekend, Kos/Song got dragged along like morons and then Dyer was free. Great piece of play

True that. Allen creates the chances. Britton keeps them ticking and he does a terrific job at it.

Fuck off Zzonked, me saying that is giving credit to how good it was, it was on a level of the best players.. I'm not having a go.. you seem to keep responding to my comments and taking them completely the wrong way ffs.Zzonked wrote:I hate when people say stuff like this.

And there's nothing wrong with what I said, you agreed that if it was Messi or Xavi it'd be hailed, which proves my point on how good it is.

Re: Swansea City's passing game.
I hate it when the half time speakers wank over Silva's passing, all like 'biuriful' and 'so nice his movement' but when Henderson makes a pass better than any of Silva's in the game, it's a 'good' pass.

Have I? I can vaugely remember one other thing, but I think I said fair enough when you explained yourself.
With my criticism of this this comment I was talking about when people say it to make the point that Scott made above this.

What point did I make?
I was merely saying I hate it when that happens.

Re: Swansea City's passing game.
Which is also a fair point, if Silva plays a 2 yard lay off Sky Sports commentators and pundits "Oh wonderful from Silva, he had the presence of mind blah blah man of the match"Zzonked wrote:kyro7 wrote:It feels like quite a few times you've taken what I said wrong.

Henderson plays a 15 yard pin point through ball perfect weight and it's a "good ball".

I refer you to my first reply in this thread. Better players get praised more because there's less chance it was a one off, I see no problem with this. If Henderson played that pass every week eventually people would start creaming over what he did.

Re: Swansea City's passing game.
The best thing about this is that it shows Arsenal are only the 5th best English passers. So much for being the te closest to Barcelona in the way they play
Also, Xavi's stats wouldn't be as good if he played in the Championship. You get closed down much quicker and there's less time on the ball. Leon Britton has proved this

Agreed, it's an overblown and narrow-minded cliché. Kyro should be banned for acting like a twelve year old.
