Referees have lots to think about every second and seeing Rooney make that gesture would have made his mind up for him. You underestimate how hard it is to be a referee. Some can be easily led like Foy today whereas the better referees don't listen to any player whatsoever.Just shows how much better City are compared to United anyway. They had 10 men yet United were still shitting themselves.

I don't think Jones had the best of games, but he did make a handful of crucial interceptions. Still vastly inexperienced, and rough around the edges, but he seems like a good player in general. Playing in midfield one match, then centre defence, then out as a fullback. Can't be easy to adjust to.
