Robert Huth would probably smash on both.
Vidic is a good defender but he's never struck me as very intimidating, he's probably a really nice guy in his everyday life.

Re: Who would win in a fight?
Absolute bullshit call there, if ever there's an example of a guy being sent off based on his reputation it's that - of course the Eastern European Skinhead Liverpool player doing the typical Liverpool thing and trying to get a black man sent off plays its part, but ultimately it's a bad decision from the referee.Hitchy wrote:

Vidic is so tough that he had to resort to elbowing Alonso while his back was turned to exhibit how brawny he is. He is a coward.

Re: Who would win in a fight?
Half the reason you missed Alonso so much the following season was that you weren't getting opponents sent off in over a quarter of your League games. Everyone was getting sent off for fouls on that fucker when he was in England, even the mild mannered Paul Scholes took a swing at him in the middle of a game - does make you wonder what sort of shit he was saying.

Re: Who would win in a fight?
Alonso wrote wonderfully crafted novels with every pass he intricately picked out, each of them singing out a taunting song of distress, passion, and frustration. Every one of them had a story-a lonely dove, floating peacefully from one side of the green pasture to the other. I am assuming that opponents found this habit of his quite irritating.ResurrectionRooney wrote:Half the reason you missed Alonso so much the following season was that you weren't getting opponents sent off in over a quarter of your League games. as long as you realize the hate isn't because of jealousy and being a threat. that would be false.

Thread about Liverpool, biased comments from Liverpool fans, anti-Liverpool mob appears, anti-Liverpool mob trolls, ResurrectionRooney makes absurd comment, Peter responds in a facetious and verbose manner to said comment, Liverpool fans love it, thread dies.

Re: Who would win in a fight?
This, that is such a horrible myth, Torres often done nothing specifically to Vidic, had a great game and it stuck because Liverpool fans can't let go of something when it happens in their favour and always bring it up.ResurrectionRooney wrote:Torres got the better of Vidic once in about 10 appearances after Vidic slipped, it happens, he wasn't constantly outmuscling him, beating him to headers, the only guy he ever beat to a header to score against us was Gary Neville.
Anyway I don't really see Vidic as a fighter, seems too nice, while Skrtel is vermin.

Vidic easily.
Skrtel is a lanky ectomorph with a massive chin. Vidic is stacked and strong as fuck.

Lets be honest they are both big men, and for what ive seen in my time and some of the fights and things ive seen you could never tell who would win certain fights between certain people.
Never underestimate an opponent

It's pretty obvious that when one guy is stronger based on his performance as an athlete, built like a tank, and grew up in the Balkan wars he's going to be more likely to win than a lanky Czechoslovakian skinhead who comes a privileged background.
Also, neither of them are our opponents, and you should never overestimate an opponent either.

Hopefully after Friday I won't have to bring this up, because Liverpool FC will be exposed. If not then I will continue to fight the good fight.

Re: Who would win in a fight?
What about Paul Scholes and Gary Neville back in 2005 not wearing the fight against racism tracksuit, Neville claiming that nike where only doing it to help themselves but i think it was just Neville and Scholes hiding the fact they were both racist. as they say actions speak louder than words.ResurrectionRooney wrote:Alan wrote:

Stand Up Speak Up is a Europe-wide campaign that was launched in January 2005 by the French Football player Thierry Henry following an increase in reports of racist incidents in football across Europe. Together with Nike and other top European players, he protests against this continuing problem inviting football fans to voice their opposition to racism.
The symbol of the campaign is two interlocked wristbands, one black, and one white. About 5 million of these wristbands have been sold all over Europe. The wrist bands are no longer being sold and there is no intention to reproduce them. All the funds raised are passed on to a central Stand Up Speak Up fund that will look to support initiatives that aim to combat racism in football through a variety of programmes and initiatives, that raise awareness, challenge behaviour and strive to change attitudes. This successful campaign included footballers such as Thierry Henry, Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Adriano.
Controversy sparked when Gary Neville claimed Nike were only involved for commercial gain and not their anti-racism stance. This carried over into a match against Arsenal as Neville and Manchester United team mate Paul Scholes refused to wear the different anti racism tracksuit top that players from both sides wore.

While I don't agree with the stance they took, I can understand their point of view. The marketability of Nike was undoubtedly a massive part of that campaign, and Neville and Scholes clearly didn't feel comfortable with taking part in what they saw as a cynical campaign. If you genuinely think that Scholes and Neville are racists then that's fine, I'm not going to argue with you.
