Get well soon Darren Fletcher, maybe this illness has been stopping his performances being as good for longer than people have known.

Ashame but United do better without him so it isn't much of a blow.

I don't think it would take 10 years to diagnose.

i never like him as a player. not mobile like other top box to box players and no real outstanding technical qualities either
he basically what they call in france, a "water carrier"

He was an important player for United when they won three league titles in a row, and he played and was a very important player in the big games against the teams challenging over that period.ResurrectionRooney wrote:Alan wrote:Get well soon Darren Fletcher, maybe this illness has been stopping his performances being as good for longer than people have known.

Wasn't that important, the only season he was an important player was the year they lost the title to Chelsea.

As Fillipo says, he was a peripheral figure in the years we won the Title, a key player in the year we lost it, and a cancer to the team in the year we won it back. He had the odd good game against Arsenal where he'd fly around the pitch flying through people, getting sent off and handballing in the area, and get praised for his 'work rate' and 'bulldog spirit' against Arsenal's softies, but that was it.

06/07 he was very much a back-up player to the first choice partnership of Carrick and the sublime Scholes, 08/09 he was arguably first choice, but our midfield was very very fluid, I imagine a lot of those appearances in both seasons were off the bench.
