    Gunners eye £7m teenager Lascelles

    The defender Jamaal Lascelles is being pursued by Arsenal and Chelsea ahead of next month's transfer window. The 17-year-old, who has played for England at under-18 and under-19 level, is rated at £7m by Forest who are expected to cash in on a player yet to figure for the first team. Derby-born Lascelles turns 18 next month and only signed his first professional deal at the club this year.

    Wish Wenger would just fuck off the dirty old paedo. This goes to all the big clubs too. At least let these local players actually get a season or 2 before you lure them away to rot in the reserves. It's ridiculous.

    I normally don't care about Wenger's transfer policy but £7m for an unproven teenager is ridiculous, We could probably get Vertonghen for a few more million. Neutral

    Don't flatter yourself they're just rumors. Out of all managers Wenger is the last I'd expect to pay £7m for a player at Forest who could easily be signed for less being the better team (Arsenal)

    Yeah right - as if a massively experienced Premier League manager would pay £7m for a player he's never seen play a professional game. What a ridiculous idea!

    I think he's just means that all the PL clubs are poaching all the up and coming championship talent and not giving them time to grow at championship level.

    Giving the player time to grow before buying is too risky for the buying club.

    Anyway, quite a few of these youngsters are loaned back out to lower divisions to progress as players.

    It's the risk of the buying club though. All parties involved have to agree on the transfer, I don't see why people only look and blame the PL clubs though.

    The player could easily turn down the move, the selling club could easily reject the fee or ask for clauses in the deal to benefit them. It's not like the 'bigger clubs' hold a a gun to their heads and make them sign.

    And like I said, players do get loaned back out so it's not like they will not develop in all cases. Arsene - as well as many other top flight managers - know how to get players to reach their potential, they wont spend millions on a player and give up on them like some people seem to think.

    Championship clubs are more than likely to accept the £7million because they aren't as rich as Premiership clubs, they want and need the money.

    When big clubs come in the smaller ones don't have a choice of the players head is turned. Look at Barcelona bullying arsenal. That's what PL clubs do to lower ones.

    I do think it was pretty bad what Barcelona were doing.....should have been acted upon as you shouldn't be able to say those things so often, and so publicly and get away with it.

    The saddest part is that they were all like "Let Fabregas go"......erm....how about Barcelona pay more than the shitty offer they gave...then he would be allowed to go?
