R.I.P Socrates
He died this morning from septic shock after he was hospitalized for severe food poisoning. Football has lost a great man.

Re: R.I.P Socrates
what a shame i remember watching old vhs tapes of him in 1982 world cup that my dad had when i was small elegant brilliance player is doesnt seem so long ago
is pity there are few players like that anymore, these days there are to much midfielders with no technical ability and just put their foot through a ball praying it goes into the net from 50 yards out like a gerrard or lampard

Re: R.I.P Socrates
He, his wife and a friend were all taken ill after eating stroganoff last week, but his body was too frail to cope and suffered septic shock which claimed his life in the early hours of Sunday morning.

His own fault. Just another idiot that was blessed. Fairly sure he'd have been dead by 30 if it wasn't for football.

His immune system has been damaged due to alcohol abuse. Ive read he's been in hospital a couple of times these past few months.
Never actually heard of him until I turned SSN on this morning. RIP though.

Re: R.I.P Socrates
I've just remembered something about Socretes. On holiday I did this football quiz that the entertainment people gave out by the pool and you had to guess who the players were from their cartoony pictures. I got 19/20 and the one I didn't get was Socretes. His picture was the exact same as Rei's ava. I put it as Don Goodman instead

There is no reason for me to 'shut the fuck up'. I'm right, he fucked himself up and eventually died because of his stupidity. As with most people I hope he rests in peace, but I'm not gonna accept people praising him for ruining a life someone could have done so much better with.

Re: R.I.P Socrates
One of the game's greatest artists and entertainers. Since I watched the 82 world cup in replay on Eurosport (Insomnia is awesome sometimes) I came to admire him greatly. Fantastic player, with a philosohpy you would dream every footballer had. His somewhat reckless lifestyle reflected his view of life and the game.

I'm fairly sure that his international career will surpass his non-league football.
Rest in peace.
