Enrique being urged to apply for English Citizenship

Some team-mates have told me to apply for British citizenship but I’m not thinking about doing that because I’m Spanish and I’ll either play for Spain or nobody.
'I want to play for Spain. Playing for a club like Liverpool makes you think you’ll have more chance of representing your country but it is Vicente del Bosque who decides and I just have to focus on playing well for my club.’

Enrique has received plenty of plaudits from Anfield about his performances for his new club and is proud of some recent good results against Man City, Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea.
He also feels there is more to come from Kenny Dalglish’s team.

Said for a while I have no idea why he doesn't get into the Spain squad. No doubt would get overlooked by England anyway because of Cole.

I doubt that'll happen.

I'd have A.Cole and Baines over him anyway.

Not to sure about Cole.

I wouldn't feel right having a Spanish reject play for us anyway.

Another thing, anyone who has urged him to apply for English citizenship is an idiot, because there's no such thing. He could apply for British citizenship though, which may entitle him to play for any of the home nations.
