If the paper threatened to release an article outing him as a paedophile (whether this is true or just slander) then it is one of the most despicable things that could happen.
I'm by no means whatsoever saying that these rumours are true - but if a newspaper have threatened to release a story purely for their own sales then shame on them.

It's their job to report the news - not make up rumours and blatant lies about people.
The S*n had a countdown on their website for when Charlotte Church turned 16 so she was legally allowed to have sex; they planted cameras outside her home and even took photographs up her skirt.
Reporters are nothing but vermin, and they will report anything that they think will grab headlines.

Not exactly. You are saying that what they post (true or not) is no reason to kill yourself.
I said that it is their responsibility to report the news. You know - the things that go on in the world; not made up stories about people.
