12 games into the season and no manager has yet be sacked since the league started. Must be close to a record surely?

Manager Sackings
Is this the longest its been since a manager was sacked in the EPL?

Re: Manager Sackings
I was thinking the other day it's been a while since a Premier League manager change.
It's weird, no one particularly looks like they're going to get sacked either. The two most likely are Roberto Martinez, because Wigan are just so so dire and Steve Kean. Thing is though, both of them seem to have their chairmans backing, so it doesn't look like they're going to go.
I guess my pick for 3rd most likely is Mick McCarthy, but doesn't look like he'll get sacked either.

Wouldn't surprise me. They've got to give him at least a season after spending £13m on him though, surely.

Unless AVB resigns, or he retires at Chelsea.

Who was the last full time Chelsea manager that wasn't sacked?

This stat was going around recently. If there is no managerial change by the time the calendar hits December, it will be the first time in 100 years for the top flight of English football that all the managers survived to December.

That is never going to happen. Trigger happy owners are lurking in every corner just waiting for the chance to pull the trigger.

Like Zzonked said, the only ones that I reckon should go are Martinez or Kean, but both of them have full support from their boards.

Good point.. Sort of contradicted myself there. Well you know how the English are with traditions. Can't break a 100 year old tradition, that would just be wrong.

Re: Manager Sackings
I doubt Martinez would get sacked. He's actually a good manager but with the shittest team in the league to manage.
If Owen Coyle doesn't get his shit together maybe he could be the first to get sacked.

Stoke have lost there last 4 and are going to Blackburn Saturday so if they manage to get a win it might just happen.

You have to take into account Bolton's difficult fixture list so far though, I think Bolton will be ok there objective is to stay up so as long as there not rock bottom he'll probably stay in charge.

He may be a good manager, but he doesn't play like a relegation scrapping team. IMO he tries to be too fancy, needs to just park the bus and squeeze out points more.

Re: Manager Sackings
Steve Bruce will be first to go.
The thing with Martinez though is that he did amazingly well to keep them up for the last two seasons as their squad was (and still is) so dire. He somehow managed to keep them punching above their weight for two years with a ridiculously poor squad.

Re: Manager Sackings
Martinez wont be sacked. Plays nice football and as people have said, he has done well with the smallest club and worst team in the league. Also remember, he was often the Villa job during the summer... He showed loyalty to Wigan, I expect that same loyalty will be shown to him.
Keane will be first to go.
