Even though he probably walks around with that much money in his ass pocket, the fact that he auctioned off his shoes to raise money for schools in Gaza just warms my heart.

Admireable, a generous donation by him. But in truth he gave them an old boot

Nice to hear something like this. Footballers are given a bad reputation but stories like this show they aren't all actually just greedy.

Hardly a legend. One of my school teachers gave £11,000 to children in need and she wasn't in the news. That was over 50% of her annual wage too.

TBF, more people are criticising him in this thread than praising him.

Nothing wrong with donating to charity but it has to be asked did he do it for publicity?
Messi donated 100k euros of his own money to christian aid and nobody knew until Christian aid decided to let people know of his generous donation.
