The Villa team and setup was a total joke btw. Got it completely wrong in every way

Tried doubling up on Bale = Bale runs rampant

Tried to stop us playing = we keep the ball for 90% of the match

Great performance, but we didn't need to get into 3rd/4th gear probably not even 2nd. Villa were shocking and can play a lot better than they did. Will take it definitely though, 3rd place with a game in hand. I think we'll really out perform Chelsea when they come to the Lane before Christmas, especially if they continue like they have. 3rd is not out of the question this year and IF United can slip up before that Everton game and we capitalize on it, we could very well find ourselves 2nd in the new year.

We don't play United every week though.

We're more then capable of winning against most teams in the league. Hell, with our current team I reckon we'd give United a run for their money.

United are playing fucking shit at the moment. Spurs can easily go second if United keep playing the way they are

so what? Only barca can keep 71% of possession against city/united. If spurs can do it against 13 out of the 19 teams then i would say that is a good achievement.

what the hell are you talking about nzg? we will hardly ever get 70% possession, against liverpool and qpr we didnt have that much. its not as though we need 70% possession to win though

I would honestly be surprised if we broke it before the new stadium is finished. Until then we can't afford it. Levy is a very smart businessman and under his leadership we'll never go into debt. Does Modric deserve higher wages? hell yeah he does, but we can't afford it right now and sustain it long enough until we're regularly in the Champions League and the new stadium is built bringing in more revenue than currently.

Honestly Villa probably played better than Liverpool did against us, and that's saying something.

We don't need 70%+ possession to win games, we've shown it against QPR, Fulham, Blackburn, Arsenal. It's not the amount of possession, it's how youuse it. Yes it can help see the game out, but with the attacking players we have we can score with minimal possession and win games.
