I didn't say that his logic was particularly good either but just because Barcelona went for Mascherano and not Song doesn't make the former a better player. Barcelona went for Maxwell instead of Phillip Lahm, does that make Maxwell better? You have to consider several external factors like availability, remaining contract years, willingness to refuse to play for parent club... Stuff like that.

What do you mean? I was giving an example of why the logic that you initially used was flawed.

I don't think it is right to prove your point like that. You can't compare the masch-song arguement with them two because of how different lahm and maxwell were respected at there clubs. Lahm was a fan favourite,from the area and was either vice or full captain. Masch and song weren't. Masch and song were pretty much treated the same by both clubs but i do see your poimt. I just didn't like the way you tried to prove it.

I'd much rather have Mikel then have Song or Lucas. But Macherano and Busquets are on a different level.
