I don't know what I would attribute how some women act to, it's a bit of the media, it's a bit of the (always present) presence of guys hitting on them, it's a bit of the fact that we are in 2011 and people can sleep with whoever they want without being treated like an outcast, and it's a bit of the fact that some people are just not loyal/get bored/something something.

Like most people have said girls spend a lot of time copying others and celebrities, if one girl (doesn't necessarily have to be famous) who happens to be 'popular' decides to do something, the majority will follow.
Also, this 'whore' behaviour - girls only really act like that in clubs/parties/as way of revenge because they want attention from the opposite sex or they want to make other girls jealous (and jealousy is the biggest form of flatter tbh). In a club or even at a house party, who are you honestly more likely to approach - the girl sitting on her own, awkwardly drinking her drink or the girl who's dancing around with her legs and (most of) her boobs out. In a different scenario you're answer might be different but a club/party event is a quick way of attracting a 'mate' so you're not going to make time for getting to know someone.
Not all girls are like this though, including myself, I think the whole getting fingered in a toilet or blowing off guy behind a bike shed thing is so low and shows that neither has respect for themselves but that's just me - some girls feel that they need to do these things to gain respect/attention. Some girls actually like having 'slag' attached to their reputation for whatever bizzarre reason.
