Good news

Well HeartGold has anti-piracy shit that will cause black screen and random crashes in game.

The one in the download is patched against random crashes and has a black screen cheat code attached that you just need to activate when in game.

Also the emulator I gave you is a fan made continuation of the No$GBA emulator after the original maker died/stopped using the internet. It is up to date and able to handle all DS games without lag or being slow or anything.

Don't you have any of the newer ones, like black, white and whatever the others are called?

I do somewhere, I can upload if you really want it.

This emulator doesn't work Polska. Well it does actually, the frame rate is great. But I can't get past the opening sequence on this Heart Gold ROM. Oak asks me for my name and stuff and after all that the screen just goes black and I can't proceed to the actual game.

Yeah, that's the black screen bug. You have to activate the code, look somewhere in the menu of the emulator. Oh and I believe you're better off saving your game by using some menu of the emulator itself aswell, because I don't think saving within the ROM works, if I remember right.

You're right. I remember a him talking about there being a cheat code to stop certain bugs. Suppose I'll try what you said.

On the menus there is an option called cheats or something that will give you a popup window for cheats. I think I have the black screen fix cheat on there already, but if not, say so. I'll copy it for you.

Also snapshots don't work with NDS games. (which sucks, my most used feature on VBA) You can however use snapshots on the emulator with Gameboy games.

They're all on there. There's also the 'random crashing' cheat. I'm guessing I should activate that too?

Might as well. Don't think it makes a difference because the rom is already patched but I haven't had any problems so far and I usually leave it on so yah..

I hate how there's no decent fire Pokemon on this game. I'm basically forced to choose Cyndaquil as a starter.

Here's where I start planning my entire team out in my head before I even play have my first battle. Been years since I've played Gold/Silver though so it should be interesting.

Damn you Polska, overshadowing me..

I cheated my team in. I already came near beating Heartgold and I beat Gold and Crystal ages ago so I don't find issue with playing with the pokemon I like.

That said, I am all ears if you have any questions when making your team or your teams moveset or whatever.

It really is. This choice is tough. I might just keep all 3 in my party until I start to see drastic differences in productivity.
