My PS3 won't read discs

Fucking gutted

It's me second PS3 and have spent the best part of the night doing the whole recovery bollocks, but to no avail. Tried taking it apart and had a look at the blu ray drive and still nothing.

Won't bother ringing Sony because the twats will want 150 quid for a shitty refurb that will last a few months if that.

Going to Argos tomorrow to pick up the new Xbox and will be sending the empty shell of the PS3 loaded with shit back to Sony. Will be selling the parts, what's fucking left of em anyway

When you phone up sony just be like you've been a loyal customer for so long... blag it basically. Say you will go to Xbox (try it it!!) Just be like poor customer service making me pay after this one was a refurbish one which was in a poor condition when arrived.... blah blah blah.

Trade it in! some game stores do not check it, they just turn it on and check to see if it has a warranty sticker.

Wish I did after me other one went. Was stupid enough to be roped into buying the 80GB one. Never a fucking again with Sony.

Tried reasoning with Sony last time and used the whole going to XBOX. They weren't interested. Nor were they interested when people reported them to Watchdog, simply because they are a massive company and are fucking untouchable.

I would take it into game or gamestation but the warranty sticker is now void with me having taken it off to have a look at the blu ray drive.

To be honest I feel like launching the console out of the fucking window at the moment it's wound me up that much.

You could try flogging it off through the local paper.

Done that with my old one, fan was like a chain saw and was freezing a lot. Had no warranty sticker, so game stores dont touch them.

Got £100 for it, not bad and funded me for a new one. But yours dont read disk so could be a bit tricky

You have demo's which load on it? Could just show a demo being played so it shows a game being played, if you get what I mean.

PS3 fail, get an xbox. New Xbox model doesn't have problems anymore like the RROD, and now PS3 needs to pay for Online, so might as well switch.

I bought my PS3 right it was launched, and it is still working with no problems at all. So many friends had 3-4 XBOX and ended up changing to PS3 instead.

Same here. Had no problems with the other two consoles, it was only the PS3 that's been the problem for me.

Your one of the lucky ones then.

The new Xbox console came with a two year warranty, so I'm sound for awhile if anything goes wrong.

i'm on my 3rd PS3. had original one, then 40GB model, now on 120GB slim. bought mine from costco with a free 5 year warranty. paid something like £475 for my original bundle with 2 games. when it broke they wanted the 2 games which i had already completed back, i got a full refund and bought the new bundle for £385 with 2 games and a remote, when that broke they wanted the games back (they were WWE & pes 2008 - i never played them) anyway i got my full refund and bought the new 120GB slim (no bundle) for about £265 i think.

so every time my PS3 breaks down i get a new one and some money back! result.

What's this Costco like then? Just seen that there's one just off King edwards street here. Might nip down there if there's anything at cheap prices like.
