Make it Squillaci, Wilshere, Fabregas, Van Persie and £40m, and we have a deal. Simples

Probably a win win situation if Arsenal have been watching him for a long time. I think it's silly if they buy him as everyone apart from Wenger knows they need some experienced players and not more youth.

He can but he isn't. He is prioritising youngsters over experienced players when it's clear that you are in need of some older players. You already have future world class players in every position anyway. Neutral

Southampton have produced quite a few very good top players over the past few years so if this kid is anything like players such as Bale and Walcott then he could develop into a top player.

While he is certainly overrated, Bale is still a very good young player. He is better than the other one I mentioned, Theo Walcott.

Problem is that Wenger sees him as a winger.

Until Walcott starts to get played up front again, he will not be able to fill his full potential. As a winger Gareth Bale is definitely better than Walcott.

Wenger doesn't see him as a winger. He has said in the past Walcott will become a striker.

True. But for Arsenal he plays a wide forward and is deadly there it's only England who can't use him properly.

Debatable. One good game against Maicon who probably had fallen asleep by the time Bale starting to play well and he gets PFA players of the year. Sagna and Szcsesny completely destroyed the kick and run merchant at WHL. Against a decent right back he can't do shit(Maicon is decent and I think he just decided to play right wing in the San Siro since they were 4-0 . So overrated after a couple of good games. Walcotts had a really good season playing out of position.Better finisher. Perhaps Bale has more end product but he is an out and out wide player which you would expect.
Im not saying he's shit he just should of been nowhere near PFA player of the year at all nor is worth the ridiculous sum expected by spuds since he is t'riffic player.

He seems to playing more of a right forward role. I'm certain he will end up through the middle eventually.

He's been playing there to develop since presumably if he was upfront he'd have to use the channels give his stature and to improve his technical ability. He said himself recently thats why he's been on the wing and hopes to get some more chances upfront next season.

I agree with that in many ways. I couldn't believe that he received the player of the year award and some of the transfer fees which have been talked out involving him are simply ridiculous. Despite that it must be remembered that he is a good player.

If Walcott is moved to a position up front, then he will improve and would probably be considered as a better player than Bale but as long as he keeps on playing out of position I can't and probably won't consider him as a better player than Bale.

If he was a striker then RVP would have to adapt to a whole new role. They don't play with two strikers and to change that would take time.

Robin van Persie was originally signed whilst we played a 4-4-2 system. Also, he is an extremely versatile player, it shouldn't really be a problem.

When both are fit and firing, Walcott and Van Persie could easily make a fearsome partnership.

Obviously though it won't be as simple as that. It will take time for both of them to adjust to playing with each other and both men have been known for their injury problems over the years.
