Really? I don't think they are the 10th best team in the world, but it's pretty obvious why they are ranked so high. Their 3 time winning African Cup campaigns, win over Italy in the Confederations Cup, and WCQ results, and friendly results made Egypt move up a lot.
No, I understand why they're up there, inside Africa you're by far the best team, just you always seem to fuck up when it comes to World Cup qualification.

by far the best team in Africa when they haven't even qualified for the World Cup since 1990? Their Cup of Nations success means that there is a solid argument that they are the best in Egypt, but that's it. If they were
by far the best, the undisputed best, they'd be able qualify for World Cups blindfolded.
Have you seen how hard it is to qualify to the WC in Africa?
Basically you drop a point = Your out. It is pretty hard.
Looking at Egypts squad, you can see alot of big ego's in the team, so it doesn't surprise me to see that they have struggles performing consistently enough to get into the WC every 4 years.
But if they were
by far the best team in Africa, you'd think they'd still manage to sneak in a time or two. Besides, Cameroon has qualified for 5 of the last 6, Cote d'Ivoire for the last two, Nigeria 4 of last 5, Ghana the last two, Tunisia 3 of the last 4. In fact, Egypt has been to the World Cup just twice. It's bizarre.
