Euro U21s/Womens World Cup/Pre-season shite

England U21s looking to follow in the footsteps of the senior team with a miserable elimination at the group stage, 3-0 down to Italy U21s who can't qualify if the other two teams in the group draw, which they are doing. Danny Ings has been the worst player on the park, appalling. Summers in a non Euro/Confed/World Cup year are so much poorer.

Chelsea's 2-0 Community Shield win over Arsenal is scheduled for Saturday 2nd August, United's first leg UCL qualifier is the 4th or 5th of August with the proper football resuming on August 8th.

England and Italy out, Sweden and Portugal drew 1-1 and qualify. Italy were great, England were absolutely dire.

I realize that this is off topic, but the Copa America has been appalling as well.  Neymar's suspension also means that 2 of the 3 best players in the tournament will play no role henceforth.

I haven't watched much of the Copa, just a couple of minutes of Mexico for the most part. But heard it's been really poor. Hopefully KOs will be better.

Why is the U-21 UEFA competition held at the same time as the U-20 FIFA WC?

(U20 finished on June 20th, U21 began on 17th)

U20 World Cup is for 17-20, and in the case of Africans, 17-28, U21 is for 21-23 because its based on ages at the start of qualifying.

It's been known for African players to lie about their age to try and get contracts with European clubs. This guy, for example, had a birth certificate saying he is 17

Unless he's throttled the chairman, this doesn't make any sense.

I can think of two reasons

A) His son used to play for Leicester was involved in a racist orgy that participants recorded and put on the internet.  His son was fired before him which he probably wasn't too happy about.
B) He's a massive, massive arsehole.
