For work i'm making a simulator to help with testing. I'm also working with a few other people on other projects. By myself, i'm working on an app idea i have and i also have to make a website for one of my friends soon.

    Have you graduated yet?

Nicee. Not quite. I just have to finish my project next semester. I plan to learn a few different languages over the break.

What does your simulator do? What language?

I know people who have group interviews when applying for graduate CA positions. It's probably more common than you think.

I wouldn't put much faith in that.  Most people wouldn't admit to their family members that they give great jobs to competent arseholes and destroy the dreams of nice guys.  People like to convince themselves they're doing good things. If your sister really turns away competent staff because they're ambitious arseholes she should be fired.

You think every interview results with the best candidate getting the job? You need to join the real world here, it is not like that. You're advocating the other side of the 'nice guy' approach. Maybe being too passive can cost you but you can easily be too aggressive too. There is a middle ground where you can be a normal human being and not a contestant on the apprentice.
According to RR, if one tries to be a nice guy and doesn't get drunk with colleagues, one will never amount to anything.

That's a gross misrepresentation of my position. On the drinking thing, I find it a lot easier to trust people who are happy to get drunk in my company, people who don't are more likely to be hiding something, they've every chance of amounting to something though. In almost all situations one should try to be a nice guy, but there are exceptions to that - competitive scenarios where the people you're up against are trying to stop you achieving your life goals are among those exceptions.

project? I though you were a business student.

I'm not sure how much detail i'm allowed to go into, but it runs weather patterns. Its python, html, css and depending on how the data accessing works, probably pick up a database language.

What languages are you going to learn?

some papers go into it a little bit but generally speaking no. We have to do 800 hours of practical work in our own degree to graduate though.

I know you can't talk about specifics, CL, but how much of python are you using - i.e, do you have to make use of numpy, scipy, and scikit learn?

Its a lot of python, they wanted to make sure i knew python like the back of my hand, in terms of numpy, i'm unsure. I don't start work for another 2 weeks and they haven't filled me in on everything so i can focus on my exams but unless i use some sort of in house package, i should be using numpy at the least. No one wants to use python lists with such large data samples.

I actually decided today I really quite like the grill that I will now refer to as 'house grill'. Spent all day with her looking for houses and had a great time. She wouldn't come back to mine afterwards though, but tbf we drove for at least 6 hours today so I think everyone was tired. Actually literally just as I typed this she apologised by text for saying she wouldn't stay at mine haha.

I apologize if no one gives a fuck about my personal diary. I will save it for the juicier stuff if no one actually cares about the boring stuff like this.

Seen surprisingly few Sublime t-shirts in uni. You'd think they'd be all over the place in the Bay Area, but I saw more in high school.

Maybe it's a rivalry thing? I usually don't fuck with anything from the Bay. Although to be fair I'm not exposed to much of anything from the Bay anyways.
