Well, we finished 3rd last season, so we are a 'Top Table Mediocrity' team. But we are currently in 6th position, so we are performing at 'Mid Table Superiority' level.

I must say, I am quite confused by Steven Gerrard's comments. On one
hand, I am disappointed that he is attempting to unsettle a player for
another team while also attempting to influence our club's transfer
policies. On the other hand, I do not think that he has recognised the
fact that Sneijder's arrival would put Captain Fantastic's position into
question. Does he believe that he can adapt his game to be a deep-lying
playmaker, something he has proven, and continues to prove, he is
incapable of doing?

It would be harsh to blame that on Steven Gerrard, when Gerrard is a product of the English footballing culture. I think that Carragher is more to blame. Gerrard plays hard, but Jamie Carragher simply takes that to the extreme, and some fans seem to adore the way in which he literally elevates himself and flies through forwards with his vicious studs showing. Dimwitted players like Jonathan Flanagan and Jay Spearing clearly latch onto this aspect of the game, rather than seeking to copy the positive aspects of a young Gerrard's game, such as scoring goals.
