Been at Gillingham. Rather injury prone past 2 years. A good player when he wants to be, but doesn't show it enough! Watched him a fair few times last season and he goes missing an awful lot.

If he can keep his fitness up and get a run of games, he will probably be back to his best which is easily a top League 2 team. I remember him in League 1 with Gillingham and he look comfortable there.

He was on loan at Scunny once from Leeds, he seemed a talented player but we didn't really give him enough of a chance so we didn't get to see his best.

A lot of people have said the same. His injuries have been a massive problem in why he hasn't fulfilled his potential.

Hopefully McGhee can get him in the right mindset. If anyone can do it McGhee can.

Bristol Rovers new stadium plans are recommended to be approved.

    npower Football League Thread _59965738_59965729

Bristol Rovers proposed new stadium from above The proposed Bristol Rovers stadium would be built next to the University of the West of England.

Proposals for a 21,700-seater Bristol Rovers football stadium have been recommended for approval.

Plans for the scheme on land next to the University of the West of England will be considered by South Gloucestershire Council on 19 July.

The development at Stoke Gifford has been recommended for approval subject to certain conditions.

If it goes ahead the scheme would also include a club shop, bar, offices and a 1,000 space car park.

Conditions attached to the plans include a restriction on the number of open air music concerts allowed at the stadium to three a year.

Devlopers have pledged to spend £140,000 on new traffic measures and resident parking zones.

Other conditions include the installation of CCTV in the area and a proviso that hedgehogs on the site should be safeguarded.
    Protect the hedgehogs!

    Dat stadium.

This. Having a 20K+ stadium with less than 10 thousand fans in it seems pretty pointless.

Pompey will face Brighton in a pre-season friendly in Cadiz, Spain on Tuesday, July 24, kick-off 6pm.

The game at Barcello Montecastillo Resort in Cadiz has been arranged as part of the club’s pre-season tour of Spain and Gibraltar.

    Should be interesting, I suppose.

With all of their 8 players it should be. Laughing

On the recruiting FL fans I've tweeted a few of our players and I've gotten re-tweeted by one and I tweeted Chris Lines. Made a thread on our forum about this place too so hopefully that may get us some more members.

#pompey Football League press release just out. Looks like further 10 point penalty on the horizon as condition of getting share back.

7 players, possible -10 points. Tick tock tick tock...

EDIT: Confirmed -10 points, 3rd deduction in 4 seasons. rofl rofl

Portsmouth have been told by the Football League they will start the new season on -10 points if they are to be allowed into League One.

Lund's loan has been confirmed today.

Bevan will be out for longer now after he aggrevated his injury. Gough expected to be our number 1 for the time being.

Pompey being deducted 10 points virtually condems them to relegation imo, looks like the end for them.

Anybody else think he looks like Ricardo Quaresma? shifty

Also got another French defender called William Edjenguélé on trial. Both should play today at Hinckley with John Fleck, Kevin Kilbane, Stephen Elliott and another trialist, Steve Jennings (but I heard somewhere that he had a knock). Should be good to see all the new guys and go to my first match in months yippee

Elvis Hammond is facing 12 months in prison for his role in a £278,000 money laundering operation. Interesting that the actual money laundering took place in 2009 when he was on our books after being signed by Martin Allen.

    -
We currently have a 22 year old centre back named Rob Farkins on trial who has spent 6 and a half years in the army, serving as a lance corporal in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Good luck to the lad in getting a deal with us. His attitude seems spot on. Hopefully he has the ability.

"My passion for football has always been there and it's a different opportunity and obviously a totally different lifestyle," Farkins said.

"I have an option to go back to the Army, but I want to see how it goes and hopefully I'll have the opportunity to express myself in some of the friendly matches and show the manager what I can do.

"Fitness is obviously a big thing in the Army so I have enjoyed that side of it so far.

"I can't say how I'd cope with League football as I haven't played any yet.

"But I am confident in my ability and I'm more than willing to give it a try."

Really starting to miss club football now Sad. Can't wait till i'm back on the terraces, spending all day on saturday's travelling to shit holes around the country watching Chelt.

At present we've only lost one lad who was a key player for us last season in Luke Summerfield, and we've already signed a replacement for him in Sam Deering. If we can get a decent striker then we will challenge the top three again next season. That's the only area that severely let us down last season at times. Brilliant football with no end product.
