Spanish Sportsmen on drugs? Empty Spanish Sportsmen on drugs?

Post by ResurrectionRooney Thu Nov 24, 2011 12:07 am

Been a bit of talk about this recently, Yannick Noahimplied that Spanish sportsmen had some sort of special advantage in an article recently

“How can a country dominate sport from one day to the next? Had they discovered avant-garde training techniques and methods that no one else imagined? I have searched and didn’t find any documented evidence of such innovations.”

Which Rafael Nadal got very very defensive over

    http://www.10sballs.com/2011/11/22/nadal-furious-over-doping-charge/

A well known 'sports Doctor' who was involved in doping said this

"If I would talk, the Spanish football team would be stripped of the 2010 World Cup"

    http://www.sudpresse.be/sports/foot_international/2010-12-13/fuentes-si-je-parle-on-retire-la-coupe-du-monde-a-l-espagne-831186.shtml

It does seem quite unusual how a team like Barcelona can play with such a furious tempo, and someone like Xavi can play 50-60 games a season pressing like a maniac, and hardly ever get any injuries, even at his age. On the Clay in Roland Garros Nadal seems to have a massive advantage over everyone else, Lionel Messi was pumped full of drugs at La Masia to give him unnatural advantages, their whole National Football Team is the same, on the roads of France Spanish cyclists dominate everything, it seems a bit strange, doesn't it?

He might as well be, he's spent nearly half his life there and been institutionalised by a Spanish club.

How does spending nearly half of his life there make him worthy of being Spanish? Surely he spent more time in Argentina so is Argentinian and not Spanish?

He is a citizen of Spain, its not important. I only brought him into this because he's at a Spanish organisation and we know he's taken performance enhancing drugs in the past.

As much of a legend Yannick Noah is, I don't really agree with the bit about Nadal. In reality, he might have a massive advantage over everyone else right now but it's because of his game style. The price he will pay for that is a shorter career - his knees are already fucked. He won't have the long-term success of someone like Federer.

And the price that other Spaniards pay for being better on clay is that they're shit on every other surface.

In cycling, they're all on drugs or at least blood doping. I don't believe the explaination given for how the clenbuterol ended in Contador's blood for one second. It's much more probable that he, while building up some muscle and using clenbuterol, had some blood taken out for doping, had it tested when it showed no clenbuterol. He then submitted a test during TDF 10, where it was sent to one of the best labs out there and they found out that there was in fact drugs in the blood. If you've read my blog on TDF 07, you'd know why they try to make it look like he got the drugs in him by accident (and because he's responsible for whatever substances are found in his body, they're still giving him the 2 year ban).
