Well you have your opinion. Do you agree that there were 10 better films in the past 12 years than The Social Network?

Ahly, you're under-rating The Social Network terribly here. Out of the ones you listed, these are the only ones I'd say are the same level as The Social Network:

    Anchorman
    Slumdog Millionaire
    The Departed
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
    Slumdog Millionaire
    Cast Away
    Crash
    The Pursuit of Happiness
    Avatar

Even if we were to say that all those films were better than The Social Network (which they aren't, by the way), you'd still only have 9. Plus, I've got the backing of the administrator, so I believe I automatically win. shifty

I'd say Batman Begins and TDK are both better than The Social Network as well.

Not of all time, just in 2000 and beyond. There are much better movies from the 1990s and 1980s.

You gave it a 9 so there surely must have been something you didn't like about it. Explain yourself.

    Whaaat?

Acting - Heath Ledger's performance in TDK is miles above any in TSN. And all the other performances were good too.
Relevance to this generation - I think it is more relevant because of the more realistic world the films are set in. There's less of the fantastical comic book stuff in and it's more gritty.

The Green Lantern. Decent, thought it ended a bit early tbh...didn't seem like there was enough in the story.

Casino Jack. Quite an intellectual film....quite a lot of people would be completely lost watching this. Still....it's quite a clever plot and it's interesting to see what kind of things a Lobbyist would do on a day-to-day basis.....

Past ten years? Personally, I'd put all of these ahead:

    The Departed
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
    There Will Be Blood
    The Aviator
    Dark Night
    The Pianist
    V for Vendetta
    Blood Diamond
    Eastern Promises
    LOTR Pt. 3
    The Hurt Locker
    A Beautiful Mind

That's just off the top of my head though, there are probably many more.

Ledger's performance isn't miles above any in TSN. Anyway, the ensemble cast of TSN was much more impressive than TDK.
Maybe TDK is more relevant to this generation than Adam West's Batman or Tim Burton's, but it certainly doesn't have more contemporary value than TSN. TSN will be remembered in the future as the film that defined an era, like The Godfather.

Facebook and Twitter may be remembered as the social networks that may have "defined an era," I don't know to what extent the film you're referring to will...
