Re: 2011 Club World Cup
What a shame for Danilo, getting subbed after half an hour in his last match for Santos
Ramalho just should have subbed off Henrique
Can't say I'm disappointed with Santos, I wanted them to win but Barca are just too strong. Hopefully Neymar can show a thing or two.

Brilliant first half from Barça. The team enjoyed 76% ball possession in the first 45 minutes to 24% for Santos.

Gotta admitt, Neymar is pretty good, just lacks a lot of support. No messi though.

in fact lacks of a decent defense
he can score 10 goals but if defense concede 30 would not help him a lot

If he could score 10 goals I think they'd be alright.

Well yes, the defence isn't all that good, but I still think they'd do better if the support up front was better. At the moment Neymar is doing a lot on his own up front, ocassionally having some quality involvement from Ganso. He's also had three or four chances to score, but haven't taken them though. He has set up some nice situations as well but his team mates simply fail at getting anyhthing out of it. Once in a while he gets some good support from Ganso, but the likes of Borges are really disappointing.

entire team was very disappointing
losing to current barça is very very normal but losing in that way is a joke
"moral" result would 8 x 1

Re: 2011 Club World Cup
Well...not much to say really. Congrats to Barca. We'll improve over the break and hopefully defend the title and make it back next year. The guys just weren't up up for it enough and Muricy didn't use the right tactics.

I'm afraid I wasn't surprised by Barca's domination. Santos have played some really good matches, but nothing to suggest that they'd be able to keep up with the best side in the world, one of the best club sides of all time.
Amongs the domination there were some positives though. Neymar can clearly do "something" against the biggest sides in the world, and shown that he has the potential to be really good indeed (I still don't see Messi-esque potential, but that's just me). He was largely isolated throughout the game, but still managed to get involved at times. I also think that Ganso needs a season or two in a "better" league to be ready to lead Brazil in the WC (no offence to the Brazilian league). His progress seems to be stiffled somehow.

To be fair, Barca is the best side in the world by quite some distance.

ganso got injured for several months since second semester of 2010
he barely played in last 1.5 years and barely played copa libertadores this year
he was at prime form in first semester of 2010
so i was not expecting ganso playing that good now

I think Ganso has an amazing footballing brain, but that he needs to test himself against better defences to take the step up to the next level. I just don't see that happening in Brazil. I could be wrong though, I hope I am, because I really like Ganso as a player.
