February Update

Vauxhall suffered a 3-2 loss to Corby in the first match of the month. Vauxhall missed a penalty as they drew with Altrincham. Vauxhall scored in the last second to grab 3 points in a 5 game thriller against Gloucester. Vauxhall came back from 2 goals behind to equalize with Stalybridge and were close to get 3 points. Vauxhall got 3 points away to Hyde to edge closer to the top of the table. Vauxhall sit in 3rd place with 53 points, one point behind the league leaders.

March Update

Vauxhall failed to put pressure on the league leaders when they succumbed to a 1-0 loss against Gainsborough. Two late goals conceded gave Vauxhall another defeat against FC Halifax. Their poor run continued when they fell to their biggest defeat of the season, a 5-2 loss to Droylsden. Vauxhall were back to winning ways when they beat Clowyn Bay 2-0. Vauxhall ended the month with a 4-2 victory over relegation battling, Hinckley. Vauxhall sit in 3rd place with 59 points, 9 points behind the league leaders.

April Update

Vauxhall started April by beating Workington 2-1 at home. A clash with second place, Guiseley, saw Vauxhall lose 2-1 away. It officially put Vauxhall out of the title race. Vauxhall edged closer to a promotion playoff place after beating Blyth 3-1. Stalybridge secured the league title after drawing and Guiseley lost. Vauxhall guaranteed a promotion playoff place after beating Nuneaton 2-1 at home. Vauxhall ended the season with a 4-2 loss to Bishop's Stortford to end up in 4th place, 11 points off the top of the table.

Vauxhall are to face Worcester in the playoff semifinal. During the season, Vauxhall lost 1-0 at home to Worcester, but pulled off a 3-1 victory away from home.

Vauxhall win the first leg 1-0 at home.

Vauxhall win 1-0 in the second leg to win 2-0 on aggregate. They will face FC Halifax in the final, who needed to beat Guiseley on penalties.

Vauxhall's season would be decided on the playoff final and conclude what could be a Cinderella story.

The game started with exchanges from both sides, but it wasn't until the 30th minute when David Mannix put the hosts in front with a strong shot from outside the box. Vauxhall went into the half with a slight lead. In the second half, it was much of the same until the 79th minute. FC Halifax had a corner played at the near post. The FC Halifax player found the ball at his feet and was getting ready to shoot at the open near post when defensive midfielder, Sean Highdale, took down the FC Halifax player from behind. FC Halifax had a penalty and a chance to equalize through Simon Garner. But the penalty hit the crossbar and Vauxhall were relieved. Three minutes later a cross across the box saw Highdale once again become a villan by putting the ball in his own net. In the 89th minute FC Halifax took the lead through another cross to put a dent in Vauxhall's season. Ahmed took off Highdale and put in another striker to salvage a late and dramatic equalizer. In the last second of the game, Vauxhall had a corner kick. Defender, Michael Jackson, jumped up and headed the ball in the back of the net to send the Vauxhall supporters in cheers.

The game went into extra time. Ahmed's tactics paid off in the 113th minute when substitute, Craig Mahon, took a low shot from inside the box to give Vauxhall another lead. FC Halifax pushed up to salvage another equalizer, but they could not find the net. Vauxhall concluded the season in fashion. The team that was expected to finish dead last in the league surprisingly were promoted under the fantastic management of Ahmed.

League Table

The board has made plans to build a new stadium. Vauxhall will be moving from Rivacre Park to the new Vauxhall Stadium. The stadium which is expected to be completed on June 24th, 2014 (2 years later), will cost around £2.3M.

Pep Guardiola has stepped down as FC Barcelona manager and instead taking the Spain U23 job. The favorites for the Barcelona job are Tito Vilanova, Marcello Lippi, Frank Rijkaard and Quique Flores. Roberto Mancini also declared interest in the job, which angered ManCity fans.

I have a feeling I'm going to get relegated this or get close. I can't seem to sign anyone. The only good players I can realistically sign can't move because they play in Egypt and can't get a work permit. So I just have to loan some average players to my team.

Also 2 of my strikers are out for 2-3 months including my top goalscorer.

August Update

Vauxhall kicked off their season with a surprise start. Despite all odds, Vauxhall opened their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Darlington. They went on to win against Hayes & Yeading before suffering two consecutive close losses to Lincoln and Barrow. Vauxhall were back to winning ways with a win over Eastbourne Boro. Vauxhall sit in 7th place with 9 points, 4 points behind the league leaders.
