    1. There was no electricity bill in Libya. Electricity was free for everyone.

    2. There was no interest on loans. The public banks granted loans for everyone on 0% interest according to Libyan law.

    3. Having a home was a human right in Libya.

    4. Every pair of newlyweds received 50'000 US-Dollar. This money should have allowed the people to buy their first house. The governement wanted to contribute to the start of a family.

    5. Education and medical therapy were free in Libya. Before Gaddafi came into power only 25% of the population were able to read. Today 83% of the Libyan population are able to read.

    6. If Libyans wanted to carve out a career in agriculture, they received farmland, a farm, equipment, seed and cattle for free.

    7. If Libyans couldn't find professional education or medical institutions in Libya, the governement payed them their stay abroad. They received 2300 US-Dollar a month for accomodation and a car.

    8. When a Libyan bought a car, the governement subsidised 50% of the price.

    9. The petrol price was 0.14 US-Dollar per litre

    10. If a Libyan didn't find a job after studying, the governement payed the average salary of the profession he was looking for, until he found an appropriate occupation.

    11. Libya had no debt to other countries and their reserves of 150'000'000'000 are now frozen and arguably lost forever.

    12. Every Libyan received a part of Libyan oil sales.

    13. Mothers who gave birth to a child received 5000 US-Dollar.

    14. 25% of Libyans had an university degree.

    15. Gaddafi started the "Great-Man-Made-River-Project" in Libya. It's the world's largest pipeline-project of drinkable water in order to get a better supply of water of the population and agriculture.

Thank God the NATO and rebels freed the Libyan population of that.

I'm not surprised. I've met Libyan tourists in Venezuela, they described me the details.

Surprised oil prices are so expansive, it is cheaper in Venezuela.

I'd rather have non-subsidized goods AND freedom than get killed for having a different opinion.

It costs the Venezuelan a lot of money to subsidise the price of oil....even though it would be dirt cheap in comparison to most other countries without it.

This free medical and education system in Libya is worse than in Egypt. A lot of Libyans cross the border for medical treatments.
