In Klopps system he has been yes, but I feel that is more to do with him not being comfortable playing upfront.

How is he not? He has everything there is to be a poacher and he was a poacher in Poland. Just because Klopp plays him behind the striker when Barrios is on form() doesn't mean he stopped being a poacher.

IMO it is Klopp's way of giving him the gametime needed to develop while still playing Barrios... even though Barrios is shit.

Barrios isn't shit, but he is sometimes just a complete calamity when he plays. Least consistent supposedly top level striker I've ever seen.

Really? Going by his wiki stats he's averaged a goal every 2 games in Poland. That tells me he either wasn't played as a poacher or he isn't terribly great at being a poacher. No offense but the Polish league is significantly weaker than the big leagues in Europe aswell.
His international goal scoring record is quite shit too. I wouldn't say Barrios is shit either. I think the departure of Sahin has affected his form and playing style recently but he still has talent.

He was played upfront in Poland.

His first season in Polish Second Division:
21 goals in 31 games

first season in the Polish top division:
14 goals in 30 games

Second season:
18 goals in 28 games

First season of Bundesliga
8 goals in 33 games

Second season of Bundesliga
so far, 5 goals in 8 games

He consistently get's better every season. Now he is in the German system, and I trust them to turn him into a top poacher.

Don't mention international, we are just pathetic 100% in that front.

As for Barrios, he has always been this way, even with Sahin and in form Kagawa. I'd say it's mostly Kagawa affected by Sahin's move.
