FIFA outselling gears

fifa 12 sold 3.5 millions units in first week and nearly 5 million in total since release, more than gears and making it the most popular first week game this year

obviously when cod and battlefield are released they will shit all over that record (black ops sold 6 million units in 1 day) but surely now fifa should be the flagship game of ea sports

i watch and read so many interviews with ea executives and other publishers that always praising madden(their nfl) games as their most important and biggest game every year but that shit is garbage. its been a month since that game was released and it hasnt even sold 2 million units world wide, let alone in the US

ea should project and maximize their budget for fifa every year

lol the last time a madden game outsold a fifa game was in the older console generation era of ps2, xbox, gamecube etc. since then their game is not even innovative and is just recycled shit every single year, like a sports version of cod but not as popular

Understandable. FIFA has been one of the biggest selling games for the past 6 years. Football is the most popular sport in the world and EA is easily the most successful company in the video games industry. What EA won't do is take advantage of the huge profits they make each year and add even more improvements to the game. They're smart and realise that can absolutely rake in cash by doing their little improvements like every year and carry on to do this.

fifa sales will stay strong for entire year. last year fifa sold over 11 million copies, they say fifa 12 will break 13 million surpassing sims 3 in terms of ea's best sellers

for the record, gears 2 sold just over 6 million, in same year of release, fifa09 sold 9.5 million, 65% of those on the ps3

gears 3 sales have dropped dramatically in just 1 week, they are predicting it will struggle to get over 5 million sales even after christmas

they should of released it earlier, there is to much competition during this period

madden 12 sales since release (6 weeks)
2.07 million (1.85million US sales)

fifa sales since release (2 weeks)
5.54 million (711k US sales)

god bless the mexicans for buying the game i america to keep it that competitive. but the world wide sales is the difference maker. no one outside of USA buys madden

does madden have a ultimate team in it like fifa?

Both don't imply no one buys it. They imply that madden is not as big as fifa and that is a fact. The second post implies that it is a stupid mistake to make madden the most important.
