Shame for both of them really. Del Potro looked like he was going to shape things up and challenge at the very top. Having five major competitors at each grand slam would have made them even more exciting, with one guaranteed to exit before the semi-finals.
I'd have liked to see Davydenko win a grand slam before he started to go downhill. He was always a relatively good player, but he was never able to make that extra step up. It's obvious that as he got older, his performance level would decrease, but it's happened a lot more than I expected it to.
