No way, not like this. They are missing calls and penalizing teams wrong (in one game they gave 11 yards for a defensive holding instead of 5) they take FOREVER to make a call, they spot the ball wrong all the time, and if you saw Denver - Atlanta or Philly - B'more you can see that they have no control or respect when it comes to the players, the regular ref's are not perfect but this is just getting worse.

Yea, the scabs stink but morally speaking, the strike is ridiculous. They make handsome six figure salaries for a part time gig screwing up the [insert your favorite team here]'s season.

I don't know the exact numbers but I read somewhere that NFL refs make less on average than NHL/MLB refs, and I'd say that being a NFL ref is harder and more thankless than being an umpire (especially since one of the biggest factors of the game, balls and strikes, is up to discretion) plus the NFL is the most valuable league in the world, you KNOW they have the cash, not like it means anything, but damn is it annoying to know this could end tomorrow.

MLB refs work a lot more than NFL refs. NHL refs have to have great cardiovascular endurance and they have to be able to skate at about the same level NHL players do. It makes sense that those types of refs would make more.

I agree though that it's not about cash for the league. It's about power. Not too bothered by that though. It's the best sports league in the world. It should be powerful. If they cave to the guys who have been making our lives miserable all these years, what's going to happen the next time they come to the table with the players?

Yup. I think the most senior trusted ref makes about $250k. For one night per week, 22 weeks per year (at most. But that would include a trip to Hawaii). All expenses paid.

Not sure what they're paying the scabs but I bet it's still nice. Even a junior union ref makes about $6000 per game all expenses paid. So if he just does one regular season game per week and no playoff games, that's $102k per year...for about 70 hours of work. They do have to take classes to keep sharp on the rules. Still, even the most utilized refs do not work more than 120 hours per year, classes included. And he rakes a cool $250k, almost as much as the league minimum for players. All that to fuck up the [insert your favorite team here]'s season. Nice gig if you can get it.

Cardinals have only given up two TDs in the first three games and have played two elite O's in two of those games.

That's what I'm saying, people are riding the 49ers like it's nothing, and I like them a lot, they remind me of the Jets in 2010. But people are overhyping them, their D is amazing, no doubt. But Frank Gore (who I really like) is quite slow, and outside of Davis I'm not afraid of their WRs (even Moss), Alex Smith is a game manager, it's rare that he will win you a game. It's going to be an interesting game next week but I think we can beat the 49ers shifty

Most of our wins last year was because of our D. Although Gore has lost a step, he just muscles through people but he's still consistent. The only time we actually go somewhat deep it's to Vernon and that rarely happens. Having one of the biggest deep threats and we can't use Moss properly because of our limited quarterback. Neutral If we had a decent qb who could throw, I'd say we be one of the favorites.
