Your Football Team Chat Thread

As you probably guessed because of the title, in this thread you can talk about your football teams and anything related to your team, league, your performances, etc.

My team won the B Division last season, only dropping 6 points out of 54.
Very hard start to life in the top division, first 2 matches were against the teams that finished first and second in the league last season.
Gave a decent account of ourselves, but we didn't have the ball much, our team tired in the last 15 minutes of both matches and we leaked goals late on.
6-0 and 5-1 were our results.

Today we picked up our first points of the season, with a 3-2 win over the team that were joint leaders at the start of the day.
Went 2-0 up, they grabbed a goal in the last minute of the first half to pull it back to 2-1.
About 5 minutes into the second half they equalised, but our striker/attacking midfielder scored with just under 15 minutes to go. We defended well and won the match

My first game of the season got called off

I didn't even read the OP.

Don't play for a team any more, want to get back into it though.

New team put together. Got banned from last one. Played two lost so far. Getting better.

We played today, a friendly against a team in the division above, lost 7-2. I started on the bench since I completely forgot about training on Friday, but I came on in the first half about 15 minutes in, then came off 10 minutes into the second half, 10 minutes later I came back on. I think I did pretty well to stake my claim for a starting position, I was heavily involved in the best three moves of the match, and one time I went round three players and shot from 20 yards, it was probably going in but it hit a defender.

Our team recently merged with another, so the coaches don't know what I play like and stuff. Hopefully I made a good impression today.

What position do you guys play?

Up front or in midfield. I'm left footed, but decent with my right.

I used to be the quickest player on the pitch, whoever we played, but I've lost a bit of speed. I'm a bit inconsistent, but I'm usually a good passer, with good control, good at shooting and crossing.

I'm left footed so left-mid usually, but my manager likes to play me on the right sometimes so I can cut in and shoot, or up front as I'm quick and good at finishing.

Played our first league game of the season today, won 2-1.

My team and the team we played are equally as good and they will be the hardest team in our league...

I came off after 35 minutes because I was shattered

But it's roll-on-roll off subs up until Under 18, I am currently in U16's.

Came on 5 minutes into second half and then we scored again making in 2-0.

They then scored with 20 minutes left and with 10 minutes left, I scraped the bar with a teed up volley.

I think we should go on to win the league, even though it is early to tell.

Just to clarify, I'm Dora.

Play in a friendly 5 a side league with a few mates, starts next Sunday.

We came 2nd out of 16 last year, lost out by 3 points

Oh and also, my manager is a woman.

This is my league, I play for Hinksey Park.

Yes, they are 'C' League, but I have played for an 'A' League team for the past 7 years, but just wanted to play where most of my friends are.

DM but I've been moved to CB and must say I'm excelling. MY problem in midfield was my fitness. I can do the odd burst forward, or sprint back and tackle someone but then I'd be too fucked for the next play.

In CB I usually just have to tackle someone, or close them down, hopefully the ball gets out and I have plenty of time to regain my breath because I'm not involved in the game as much.

I'd obviously rather be playing in the middle but fuck it, I need to sort out my fitness first so I guess I'm doing more for my team at the back.

We're a new team, only been together for a month and most of us are 16-18. We've entered a league where most players are at their best, around 24/25 and most teams have been together for years, the team we played on Saturday have been together for 16 years (not with all the same players of course).
They're all big men and they push us over.



I can't see us doing very well in this league.

My mate runs one of the best teams in the town. Well he runs the reserves (who are still one of the best and in the second division because they can't be in the same division as the first team). Anyway he's asked me to play for them. I don't know whether to go play for them and get the chance to win trophies and that, but there's a chance I could be used in rotation and there'll be a lot of competition for my place.

Or I could carry on at my team who are a few divisions below, but I'm guaranteed to play every week where ever I want.

Mind fuck.

My mate wants me in CM. I can literally play anywhere though.
