Re: Official Rugby League Thread
Salford City Reds have signed promising young French half-back Theo Fages on a two-and-a-half year deal.
The 16-year-old joins from French side Pia after reportedly being targeted by a number of other Super League sides.
Fages will initially play for the junior sides but will spend time training with the first-team.
"Theo is a very, very good player and we are looking forward to helping him fulfil his potential," said head of youth development Alan Hunte.
Hopefully can be another Myler, We really do find and bring through some fantastic youngsters!

Re: Official Rugby League Thread
Talking to myself.
Praying for the playoffs still hopefully Parrish can get us there!
Salford City Reds new coach Matt Parish has taken charge of training with his new squad for the first time today (Monday) and will be looking to bring in some new ideas before the Reds take on Hull KR on Sunday.
Parish has just finished his duties with New South Wales and the Australian was present for Salford’s humiliating defeat at the hands of Hull FC on Friday night, a game which Salford lost 52-16.
Speaking after the game on Friday the 42-year-old said: “These things happen in football and we will now work all week to correct that. There are obviously plenty of areas that we will look to improve on, but from Monday now we’ll be working with some ideas I have and we will be ready to go to Hull KR on Sunday,” reflecting on a disappointing evening for the Reds.
Salford’s search for a new coach began in April after incumbent coach Shaun McRae announced that he would not be seeking to extend his contract beyond the end of the 2011 season. McRae took leave from his duties in March after becoming ill, and at the end of April it was announced that McRae was leaving the post with immediate effect leaving Salford searching for someone to take charge for the remainder of the present season.
It was at one stage thought that assistant coach Phil Veivers would be given the opportunity to lead the club on a long-term basis after an initial upturn in performances, but the Salford hierarchy decided to look outside of their current staff for McRae’s successor.
After being linked with another Australian assistant Kurt Wrigley, who is currently the assistant at the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Salford announced that New South Wales’ assistant coach Matt Parish would take over as Salford’s head coach after his duties in the state of origin series, which reached its climax last Wednesday, had been completed.
Parish will be with the club until at least the end of the 2013 season, and will lead the club as they move from The Willows into the City of Salford Community Stadium
Praying for the playoffs still hopefully Parrish can get us there!

I've not posted here for a while.
Was that loss to Hull Parish's first game?

No cos he had not had time to train the squad so it was Veivers last game in charge.
I think Veivers has done a fantastic job under the circumstances and what he was left with as he has nearly got us in to the playoffs.
I bet Parrish was thinking after watching that on Friday though fuck this im going home.

Your youth coach Alan Hunte, he used to play didn't he? Sure I've seen a try of his on a DVD I have.

na i always watch the program at the end of each season on sky but not got the dvd.
Btw Leeds are seriously wank atm, if we beat them in a week or two theres a chance we could be pushing up to the playoffs again.

Re: Official Rugby League Thread
Its a bit outdated now, think it has all the seasons from the first Super League season to 2008 on. Also bonus feature showing the 1997 tournament where all our super league sides played against the aus/nz ones. Forget the name of it.
Yep true we are struggling, played well against Wigan and were a bit unlucky to lose, but back to the same old shit defence last time out. Although Catalan are playing well this season!

Yeah Catalans are really starting to hit form, They are one of my favourite teams and ill give it the RFL they have been a massive success in the Super League as with their new stand they can get crowds of up to 11k now.

Re: Official Rugby League Thread
Ryan Hoffman off back to Auz at the end of the season. More cap room but less consistency with the squad we have.
Least Carmont and Richards will both be here next season.

Re: Official Rugby League Thread
He's still here until the end, so it's not 'was' just yet.
He's decent, scored a few. Second rows are quite difficult to notice, I find. Usually go undervalued.

Re: Official Rugby League Thread
Ah fair enough, Everytime i watch Wigan Lima always seems to get sin binned or in trouble , Ratchfords Still linked with Warrington but Parrish said that he said to him he is staying but you can't trust players this day and age tbh. But Parrish said we have Sneyd coming through so if he goes then it would be a shame but we have Sneyd and no player is bigger than the club.
Loving Parrish already.

Forgot that was on, thanks for reminding me. Probably should have gone considering I live in Warrington, but oh well.
I've never had a good experience every time I've gone to the HJ.

We seem to always do well at Warrington , not sure whether you will win today though due to Warrington always being up for the games with you and they will be aiming to get 3 in a row.

Re: Official Rugby League Thread
We'll see, but generally there are far less upsets in rugby league than football, so you might be right.
Back from a run and shower with about a minute to spare before kick off.

Don't let them back into it now, we need a good 30 point lead for when we inevitably let them back into it late in the game.
