Not sure why I'm exempt but.
I don't see the whole 'hype' with spending hundreds of pounds on good headphones unless you're a real proper music lover.
I bought a pair of £10 Phillips in-ear buds and they've served me brilliantly for 4 months and serve their purpose.
There are much better out there than the generic beats though.

You are on that list because your posts are off topic and not helpful, like the one above.

I don't use beats, they are overpriced and the sound quality isn't that good. The new apple ear buds are nice and cheap, the biggest question before I can recommend anything else is do you like ear buds are over the ear?

On ear. I'm willing to pay a decent amount seeing as they'll be used fairly often. Ive also heard there is a lot better than Beats, I'm just not sure where to start looking.

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD25-1-II-Closed-Back-Headphones/dp/B000TDZOXG
Loved these when I had em, really good sound, good bass if you listen to a genre that is bass heavy, very light and foldable.
I'd say when looking at headphones, Sennheiser, Bose, Sony are the major brands to look at.
Skullcandy Aviators are kind of dope too, don't like the design, but they are a good alternative to beats, cheaper w/ better sound.

The design doesn't bother me too much. I'd never walk around outside in them, someone would try steal them. I've heard of Sennheiser, not Bose though And I didn't know Sony did anything that is quality
@crump, that's just stating the obvious.. you may as well tell everyone it is cold outside while you're at it.

Bose is better with big sound systems, got one a fee years back and its amazing, but their headphones are top stuff too.

I went in Curry's at the weekend hoping to test lots out, but they'd sold pretty much everything. Ideally I'd test them before buying but I'm not sure it's possible unless I visit a bigger city.

I have Bose QC3 for when at home and shitty cheap JVC ones when I'm out and about.

Just some skullcandy in ear headphones, they were like £6 on sale in HMV.
They're great for me.

I had some black over-ear Sennheiser ones that my mate left here when he went to do a ski season so I just used them, they were really really good.

Forgot about HMV actually. No wonder though, all but one closed down here I think.

Sennheiser are the best to get for cheap. I have £40 ones from HMV.
I don't see why people are suggesting the big ones, they're easily stolen and make you look like a bit of a pillick if you're white.

The big headphone companies Sennheiser, Bose and Sony are the best to look out. I've got Sennheisers personally and they are fantastic quality, very comfortable too. Great for all types of music although particularly bass driven. (Not sure what you're into, think it's rock.)

The sound quality is great, imo but they leak like a motherfucker.

Yeah, I listed to a lot of rock.
I'll get looking at Sennheiser and Bose then.

Totally disagree, other brands of the same price are much better to me, beats look OK and have good marketing but as a product they at very overpriced.

I haven't had a chance to sample the sound quality of the other 'expensive' headphones, with the exception of Beats. But now that I've sold them, I just rock the $10 in-ear JVCs.

Sennheiser have good headphones around the £70-£150 price range. I'd recommend them. Not sure about the more expensive models as I haven't tried any of them but they're quite good apparently.
Not sure about the worry of having your headphones stolen though, is that a thing? First I've heard of it.

Well if someone got mugged I imagine they go for the more valuable stuff you have.
