Oh yeah that is like us. When you said college I thought you meant one of those weird community college things like in the US, I have no idea how they work.

Isn't it compulsory to go to college? (I know you can drop out and not do the last year)

Primary School: K-5
Middle School: 6-8
High School: 9-12

After that it's either Community College if you are poor, or University if you got a scholarship, or are not poor. Sometimes both, a lot of people do their first 2 years in a Community College and then transfer to University for their last 2 years.

Those aren't ages. They are what grade you are in.

Regular school here is from Kindergarten to 12th grade, the final year of high school. If you continue your education then you either go to a Community College or a University.The term "College" here can be a either of those two.

Hence, Kanye West's College Drop Out. He dropped out of Chicago State University or something.

I had a teacher that explained to us how school worked in the UK. Your system is better. We are forced to take math until we graduate.

Not at the moment, they're raising the age you have to be in compulsory education to 18 soon enough.

Yeah. I prefer ours, when I see tv shows etc it seems like you guys are in education for an eternity

You used to be able to leave education at 16, now it's compulsory till the age of 18 from next year I think.
