Re: The tennis thread.
Hard to say how it'll go. Vika is essentially an upgrade of Kerber, but when Vika isn't playing at her best it all goes horribly wrong and she can lose to almost anyone
That said, Vika's been playing really well so far - not quite as good as at the very start of the year but she's getting there. A bronze medal isn't out of the question.

Hopefully she doesn't lose it.. have you seen much of Kim? She's won her game pretty comfortably on paper.. she might do Maria.Pico wrote:Hard to say how it'll go. Haven't seen any of Kim to be honest. I have no idea how she's got this far

I wasn't sure if you meant your avatar would be a jinx. If so, I was hoping you'd keep Wozniacki.

Wait, did you get to see Vika play because I read it was moved to court 2?

Had to leave by around 8pm so I only caught the first set. I wanted to catch Vika & Pico before I left so I ended up missing the last couple of games of Tsonga v Raonic Worth it though, I'd have kicked myself more if I couldn't see Vika or Pico.

If you were wondering where the match photos are, I haven't got to them yet. Just doing Pico's now, hence the sig change

Damn, seems like you got to see quite a lot.
I wish I was rich. Amazing that you get that variety then you're going to watch the gold medal match as well.

Re: The tennis thread.
It was a hell of a lot better than Wimbledon tbh, mainly because there's a lot less people so you can roam the grounds with ease. Plus there were only tickets for Centre, Court 1 and then ground passes so Court 2 was free as well.
There might still be tickets left y'know, given all the empty seats

There's category A tickets for both Centre & Court 1 available for tomorrow £115 and £75 respectively.

It's cheaper than Wimbeldon isn't it?

I've got some United youth blogger/reporter constantly moaning about it fucking up when he's ordering tickets (not sure for what sport).

I'm not 100% sure, maybe a little bit. My Court 1 tickets yesterday were £55, can't imagine Wimbledon ones being any cheaper than that.

Women's & men's doubles finals, yes
Purposely avoided the men's final in case Murray is there.

It seems tickets become available the day before for tennis. Might wait and see if I can get them for a later date. If I have any money by then.

55 seems like a very good price.Pico wrote:I'm not 100% sure, maybe a little bit. My Court 1 tickets yesterday were £55, can't imagine Wimbledon ones being any cheaper than that.

Re: The tennis thread.
Before they had them available for quite a few days, but they could've changed for just the day before like you said. Might be their best bet of getting rid of those empty seats
Be warned though - the later the date, the less matches you'll get to see.

I don't mind.
I become restless being in one place for too long anyway. Unless it's my computer chair.

That's why the early days are better Just hop from match to match.
Sod's law is that Court 1 is at the very opposite end of the grounds to Court 2 where all the best matches happened to be going on
