Team GB Squad Empty Team GB Squad

Post by crump Thu Jun 28, 2012 10:17 pm

So, we know Beckham is not in it.

Reports suggest that Ryan Giggs, Craig Bellamy and Micah Richards will be the three over-aged players in the 18-man squad.

That is from SSN official Twitter, sceptical about Bellamy. Hmmm...

I'm in favour of loads of youth though, don't see why we should be playing the really old guys, excellent chance for the youth to get experience in this tournament.

I doubt any under-23 Northern Irish players will make the squad. Sad

    Evans, possibly. He's 23 isn't he?

I've been waiting for this for a while now. Think Mexico might meet this team if we get out of our group. Not sure if that's right though, heard it somewhere.

    I see Brazil winning this.

BTW, what is the age that is 'over-age', is it 23?

Would be good to see Bannan & Rhodes in the squad, maybe Forrest and Matt Phillips too.

Think Lennon has already said none of our players will be going with Champions League qualification in mind

Don't think so, ROI isn't part of GB is it? shifty

Butland will probably be the no.1 keeper.

Wouldn't mind seeing a frontline of Jay Rodriguez and Jordan Rhodes.

Is there any chance of being told who is IN the squad instead of those who aren't? Why are things being revealed backwards?

Doesn't Stuart Pierce keep making shortlists that are made shorter and shorter? Each time he cuts the list, the omitted players are announced. I think.

Expecting Argentina to win the Olympics to be perfectly honest. About time Messi got an international trophy.

Argentina aren't even in it this year Laughing Brazil, England, Spain, Uruguay, Japan and Mexico are the bigger nations in it.

Argentina's not in it. Of course, that explains why the Mexican media expect Mexico to advance a bit further than usual and maybe even win a Bronze medal.

I kinda hope Mexico does poorly so no one snaps up all of Chivas players. Specifically Marco Fabian.

I'd like to see who was in the original list of players as there's meant to be a few Forest players according to an article I read in the Guardian.

Only one I can think of that would have any sort of chance would be Chris Gunter.

He's only 22 and has 37 caps for Wales already
