This guy went through some shit too. Lost his wife to cancer in 2002 and shortly after lost his son in a motorcycle accident in 2004. His dad was also ran over and died last year.
There was a famous quote of his about the tragedies he experienced.
"Life has hit me hard. I could have become vulnerable and end up shooting my self, or I could look into the sky and grow. I chose the second option."
He also infamously(or famously, depending how you feel about Mourinho) called Mourinho the Spanish equivalent of "swine/low life."

On this note does anyone know of any other recent managers to die whilst managing a club?

Bizarre. This kind of thing really puts football into perspective.
Rest in peace.

This is an extremely valuable quote to me, lost my mother to disease in February (I was 19 years old, she was 42.) I always think "you know some people would let something like this destroy them, but I use it to motivate me. Very powerful stuff.
