I wonder if anyone has ever eaten off the plate they get at a major.

Re: The tennis thread.
Everyone in tennis is always so happy after they lose in the final, especially the women, can't fucking stand it.

They're not happy, they just put on an act, they're gutted, Errani was crying as well.

That mega cock-up from the announcer cheered her up though
I'm less annoyed about this because the main Maria-troll on TF was banned last night

Re: The tennis thread.
Surprised that was her first time winning it.
Match started off well but got a bit shit, not much of a final.

Disagree from a neutral point of view, started off with Maria absolutely demolishing her, was too one sided, in the second set Errani actually put more in I think.Marvin wrote:Surprised that was her first time winning it.

Re: The tennis thread.
If Djokovic wins this, he'll have won all four in a row? Does that count as a Grand Slam?

Re: The tennis thread.
Winning 4 at any point makes it a career grand slam but he'll hold all 4 at once which is not done by many at all.

Holding all 4 at once doesn't count, he'll have to win this and retain Wimbledon and the US.

Doesn't count as what? It counts that he's held all four slams at once.ResurrectionRooney wrote:Holding all 4 at once doesn't count, he'll have to win this and retain Wimbledon and the US.

Never mind you were responding to SB, I thought you were responding to me saying it'd be a career slam.ResurrectionRooney wrote:kyro7 wrote:Doesn't count as what? Re: The tennis thread.
In on calendar year Don Budge and Rod Laver have done it, Rod Laver done it twice, last one was 1969, but as RR said Novak has to win the French and Wimbledon, then the US to do that, I think he could definitely do it, but he's some way off, if he does that and wins the olympics it'll be the golden grand slam.SBSP wrote:Has anyone done it before?
Nadal has a career golden slam.

Queen of clay, Stuttgart, Rome and Roland Garros, not bad for a cow on ice.

I unfollowed everyone from PM at one point.
I shall rectify this.

Re: The tennis thread.
I see, are you still confident Rafa will beat Novak tomorrow? If Rafa loses it'll probably be the most painful ever for me, considering it's a RG final, Novak will cement his place above Nadal even further.
