serie a best league in the world

now this is not out of my mouth but those of the espn soccernet team consisting of 3 englishman and 1 american they all said that the epl has been going backwards for a few years and whenever italian teams playing against english teams is always the same story at least for this season. to me this is complete proof and undeniable factual evidence of this fact. when chelsea lose to napoli next week it will being more proofs. and also ibrahimovic is better then rooney in every aspect

It's not a fact of the EPL going backwards, I mean look at the top half of the Premier League now. At the start of the season there are 4 or 5 teams with ambitions of going for the title. Instead of the old classic Manchester United and Chelsea. Even 4th place is a mammoth race, with this season Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and even Newcastle aiming for it in the long run.

Also last season Spurs managed to beat AC Milan did they not? Maybe Ibrahamvovic is more technically gifted than Rooney, but I'd much prefer Rooney.

This is the first time in 7 tries (I think) that Milan has beaten an EPL team. This one win is supposed to reverse an entire trend?



All you really have at this point is evidence of a momentary downturn in English football relative to Italian. You cannot credibly assert that we are in the midst of a sea change towards Italian football dominance over English. You're just being fanboy if you are trying to make that argument based on such short-term evidence.

It had been almost 5 years since Milan beat an English side, only last year Spurs kept them out for 180 minutes and 2 years ago Milan came to Old Trafford and we did what they did to Arsenal.

One result doesn't make Serie A better than the Premier League, and definitely not the best in the world.

I'd say it could well be on the up again though.

Disagree with Serie A being better than the prem. 4 English teams have reached the final 7 times since Istanbul, Italy have only had 2 teams reach it 3 times in the same length of time.

Yes the EPL is going backwards in terms of quality amongst the top teams but imo the league is better because of it we have more competition in the league which I prefer to have over the European dominance we've had recently.

Also if you look at last 3 competitions, Arsenal knocked out Udinese, Tottenham have beat both Milan clubs and United destroyed Milan 7-2 on aggregate.

I'd like to know who these 3 Englishmen were that said this. They're probably on ESPN for a reason you know. Wouldn't surprise me if it was the likes of David Pleat, if it was then you can't listen to him trust me.

And as said one result from a Serie A team over what was in all honesty an Arsenal side on the slide. If you're doing that then, as already said, Tottenham beat Inter 6-5 over the two games topping the group, and AC Milan 1-0 on aggregate keeping two clean sheets. So by this logic.. Tottenham > Serie A.

We're a horrible team right now, we have mediocre players mixed with mediocre management and in all honesty we would have probably lost to relegation candidates in the premier league on that night. This proves absolutely nothing

maybe in england sky or bbc are seen as the top tier of punditry but these stations are completely bias towards english teams and heavily favor certain club teams such as liverpool. outside of that little country, espn is the top of the food chain and soccernet presspass is the greatest international football comment show in the world, covers all leagues equally with expert panelists and new guests every week to bring show of top quality everyday at 7pm on weekdays and 7:30pm week nights

yes thats them however the people change sometimes, 1 day they have some irish guys, another day the use australian guy but my favorite is mustoe and shaka hislop/robbie earle. mustoe is the smart one always make good comment in my opinion he should be england manager he is so smart in technical side of the game and then u have any black guy u want next to him in the panel who makes cool jokes like earle or even dean sturridge he use to make appearance on there but sky book him out all the time

After 1 game? Lets not forget this arsenal was beaten 8-2 at manchester united. But yes, the premier league has gotten worse. But whether the italian league has overtaken it in terms of quality, cannot be determined on one game.
