This has nothing to do with religion. I'm simply differentiating martyrdom from suicide.

Yeah, I mean, that's a pretty comforting thought sometimes, that, no matter the suffering right before you died... once you die... it's over, you can't remember any shitty things that happened, and you can't cry over good things that left you, because you can't remember them.
