Re: Book Thread
Any book suggestions for someone who read moderately in his younger years and is looking to get back into it?

I think you will turn gay if you read it.
J. k Rowling compared Voldermort to Hitler and Stalin, so, if you are into wizards who are like politicians go for it.

So guys, I've always been a huge fan of Greek myth and all that shit, but I have no comprehensive work of of everything... origin stories, Illyad, Oddysey, Aenied, all that shit, can someone recommend?

Re: Book Thread
There's a book called Mythology by Edith Hamilton. Probably not what you're looking for as it doesn't have the full epics, but it has a lot of smaller stories.

Not comprehensive, but The Metamorphoses by Ovid covers a lot of ground IIRC.

Re: Book Thread
Just finished Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance then read that afterword and found out the main kid in the book died in real life really young. It has nothing to do with the story so it's not really a spoiler, but it was one of the most depressing character deaths I've experienced, due to the fact that it actually happened in real life. :<

Has anyone read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Knight? I was going to read it years ago, but upon seeing a swear word on one of the first pages I read, Father & I agreed to postpone my reading of it for 6-7 years.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time? I read that when I was twelve... I think it was good, but then again I was twelve. Are you actually being serious?

Re: Book Thread
Somewhat. I remember it being lauded as a great "modern literary classic" when it was originally released, but it has since drifted into obscurity.Ra's al Ghul wrote:The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time? The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is terrible. I'm halfway through my 2nd reading of it now. Wished I'd picked another book for my coursework. The Catcher in the Rye is good though. I have to compare the ways the authors present self discovery and coming of age for its main protagonists.

Re: Book Thread
Huckleberry Finn is good you willy.
Great Gatsby is just a standard length book, like 200 pages or something.
