"Bec" fucking bored the life out of me.Cam wrote:Read them all, they're great.
The Larten Crepsley books are good as well
Superb series as a whole though.

Bec was pretty crap. The ending was a bit jarring as well

Re: Book Thread
I think the level of the writing in the Cirque de Freak series was far more consistent. The end of the Demonata series descended into a lot of macho, quasi-childish nonsense on Grub's part. Haven't read the Larten Crepsley books yet.
Finished Elantris the other day. Not Brian Sanderson's best work - far below his Mistborn Series - but it speaks to his prowess as a writer that I still enjoyed the book despite the less than stellar writing.
Onward to the Witcher books that Eternal unwittingly latched me onto.

Mind you, there are only two books translated so far. And one collection of short stories missed out in-between those two, I liked Geralt enough to read the fan translation of those stories, so I wouldn't miss out on character development. I can link you if you ever want.

Rei my good man.

These ones:Limits of the Possible
A Shard of Ice
A Little of Dedication
The Sword of Destiny
The Eternal Fire
Something More
I found them well done despite the amateur work.

'A Clockwork Orange' is fantastic. And Lolita, I guess they are classic.

They're books about Larten Crepsley? They're like a prequel, really good actually, thought they'd be shit.

I have just reread A Tale of Two Cities by Dickens. It was as good as the last time I read it, incredibly enough.

He left because he wasn't enjoying his time on here anymore and because he needs to focus on school.

Re: Book Thread
Started reading Robinson Crusoe. About 50 pages in (where he gets shipwrecked) and to be honest I've found it a bit slow so far. Does it pick up later on?
