I know she is. Have you watched the film for it? She's even worse when you watch her in person.

It's interesting to see the differences between the book and the film. The book focuses on the young boy, however if you watch the film closely, you'll have noticed that it actually focused on the story of Tom.

Currently reading The Kite Runner for English Lit. In class we're reading Death of a Salesman and King Lear. I'll be moving onto Small Island once I've read Kite Runner.

Kite Runner is shite, though a particular scene did draw plenty of jokes.

Started the first of 24 books, pretty interesting, I can tell some of it is wrong, no-one sane would dare to translate it from Greek to English (Not reading in Greek, I'll be reading for ever)

I have to write about an extract from Ulysses for an assignment by tomorrow. Reading it is like pulling teeth.

Is that the weird modern version of Odyssey? Even the concept sounds unappealing.

It has links to it yeah. The main thing that irritates me though is the fact that this whole extract has not one comma or full stop. It's really unpleasant to read something like that. Laughing

    Thought I'd share this here.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/King-Elflands-Daughter-Del-Impact/dp/034543191X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1322274150&sr=1-1

Apparently this book pioneered modern fantasy, even before Tolkien. Such immense significance means I have to read it sometime.

Finished the Oath Breaker, book 5 of the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness. I was put off when 'children's fiction' was mentioned on the cover, but regardless it is a gem for all ages. The story tailed off slightly after a good start, I feel the first book will not be topped. I keep trying to find out faults in the author's writing unfortunately, prevents immersion.

I read wolfbrother when it came out. Can barely remember what happens, but I remember it's really good.

Think I read the second one too.

I try not to be nit-picky, but the lack of eroticism is something I usually take as a sign that the book is not mature enough. But then I remind myself of Lord of the Rings. Still, Torak and Renn should hit the sack. Not that I care for much, it's just that it establishes that it isn't a children's book.

Wolf brother was incredible, the spirit bear was genuinely scary.

Last book I read was Looking for Alaska, really interesting, quite philosphical for a book aimed at teens really, some kinda dark themes.

What are teen books like, really. Keep thinking towards the lines of overblown heroism and simplistic romance.
